Betty Spalton Scholarship

This scholarship honors Betty Spalton, one of Argo's esteemed female leaders. Betty joined Argo in 1990 and served as the general manager of our Fort George branch from 1992 to 1996. She then became the president and general manager of our South Okanagan branch, a role she held until her passing in 1999.

Before joining Argo, Betty worked with BC Transportation and Infrastructure as the district manager at Robson. She was responsible for managing 359 kilometers of Highways 16 and 5, and she was the first woman to manage a highway district in British Columbia (Fifty Years of Building BC, p.104).

The Betty Spalton Scholarship awards the successful candidate(s) with $2,500 for study and living expenses. Learn more or apply at https://www.roadbuilders.bc.ca/bettyspalton.

Jack & Gillian Linington Scholarship

The Jack & Gillian Linington Scholarship, offered through the BC Road Builders & Heavy Construction Association, provides students in the road building or heavy civil construction industry with an opportunity to receive $4,000 for their studying and living expenses.
